Sneak Preview of Amy Crehore’s “Roaming Tomcat Rag” painting
I was exchanging emails with Amy Crehore today, guessing at the meaning of "Roaming Tomcat Rag". Here's sorta how it went with some work to make it seem like a live conversation:
Marshall: ....Amy, the wooded background looks like the park you like to walk in and wrote about - and I love the cats! The blue bird (of happiness?) is a nice touch on the right of the painting!
The trees, I haven't seen you paint them quite that way before. I'm sorta reminded of the Tarot deck and the Ace of Wands (or the 9 of Wands) - as Wands represent activity. The blue bird is like opportunity landing and the cat is....well, the cat - so relaxed."
Amy: ...."the title is "Roaming Tomcat Rag".... (and) I think her pussycat may not be sleeping once the tomcats (in the distance) find her. It's a blues gal painting....with a blues song kind of title... but you are right...maybe the bluebird is "opportunity"... Â
To find out more go to Amy Crehore's blog and check out the Blab! Show site which should be updated by Wednesday, September 13th, with images of Amy Crehore's new work and there will be a link to pre-order the Blab17 book (which is not ready yet); I'll also post a press release on the Blab! Show shortly.
