[...] Went over to David Nolan Gallery on Broadway, in Soho, to see the other show of Peter Saul’s work that opened last Thursday.  I would much rather write about paintings I see personally - I need the personal contact to do my best work. I covered the Leo Koenig opening last Friday in part 1, part 2 and part 3 last week.
It's amazing how much we think alike, Marshall. People very much need each other and art is story.

I was going to explore the piece from today's New York Times on the the affects of Alzheimer's on a painter's art and then I visited your site to see you have already done it. I still may explore it with a very different take. :-)

Really! I had not thought of it that way Robyn. I guess Woman are elemental in my work. Without the human element in the work, some where, there's not as much interest (I know people will argue about that statement).

I mean, if I were a "rabbit" I'd look at a landscape (if I could see it - being so close to the ground) entirely differently than a human being .....I'd probably not care if humans were in it for not (except they'd be shooting at me ....maybe....). People need other people ... art is a story.

Marshall, I wonder about your thoughts on the women depicted in the Delacroix and the Saul since women are often elemental in your own art.
