Some News and Art Opening Reviews

First of all I’m Leaving IBM and happy about that - it was time to leave and I felt it - I let my intuition guide me though I’ve noted opportunities arise for me once I made a decision to act on them - and that was certainly true of my leaving IBM for Monster.com.

Having said that - I did go to a few art openings over the last two days, but had not had the time to write about it till now. On Tuesday night I attended “And Who Are You? Work from Saatchi online” at Sara Tecchia Roma New York W 20 street, 529, floor 2” briefly; I was interested in what Charles Saatchi decided to show and how it happened because of the Internet and his website.  I was amused by a few pieces of work but most of what I saw is a blur now, two days later.  I liked the large photos of Benjamin Fink

I later went to a Mashable party in the East Village where I met and spoke with some interesting people and was caught on camera (looking way too serious) by Tamar Weinberg of Gawker Media.  The other photo of me, I can’t say I like any better.  I thought the Mashable party was pretty good, even though it was more or less, just a bunch of people hanging at at a bar/nightclub.

I briefly went to see Joyce Pensato’s paintings but I could not really connect with them - this was Wednesday night.

But tonight I went to ” The Odyssey Within” Fine Art by Artists Living in Italy and Greece and of Italian and Greek Origin at Agora Gallery (Chelsea)
W 25 street, 530 which I thoroughly enjoyed, and the company was good with friend artist Melanie Prapopoulos (who had some works showing) and her friend Linda.  I also had bunch with Melanie and Linda yesterday while today I had a nice lunch with Leticia, one of my social media committee members.

The work of Melanie Prapopoulos reminded me of Hans Hoffman’s work in the brushwork and texture and I told her so.
