Toronto Drawings
I did a couple of drawings while I was in Toronto this week for the Social Media RoundTable and the first one, below is of Jacquelyn Cyr (twitter handle is infiltrators ) (see below):
The light wasn’t that good and Jacquelyn Cyr wasn’t the best sitter, to be honest, and I did the best I could, under the circumstances. While I was working on this drawing, K.D. Paine (she was writing this post -Defining a dashboard for measuring relationships in social media while I sat next to her earlier in the day at the RoundTable) looked on - and I finished the drawing from memory, a few hours later, in my hotel room, as I was about to collapse, from exhaustion.
The other drawing I did was of the sculpture of the Virgin and Child by Pietro Lamberti (1393-1435) in the Royal Ontario Museum - I took a stroll in the museum, hoping to draw, and having some time to kill anyway, but the only thing I really connected with was the Lamberti sclupture.
I tried very hard to capture the beauty and look of the Virgin’s face - and may have over worked this drawing - not sure; I also lost all sense of time while working on the drawing.
Finally, in Toronto, I did a drawing while at Third Tuesday of Michael Cayley - really, just the beginning of a sketch but he seemed to like it and made me promise to send him the image of it (Michael, you can just grab the image from my post, here).
I also drew a picture of my hand while I was returning to NYC on PorterAir:
There’s more to post, but I’m tired, going to bed - been a long day. BTW, here’s the online video clip I made of the Toronto trip - my drawings fill in some of the gap the movie didn’t cover, yet gives you more information.
