Interviewed at Affiliate Summit East 2009 (#ase09)

I was interviewed today at Affiliate Summit East 09 (#ase09) where I’m attending, as Press.   Meanwhile, my Webmetricsguru.com blog is down due to faulty shared hosting arrangement at Dreamhost (which is turning out to be a nightmare).

Julie & Julia Film and After Dinner party

I saw Julie and Julia tonight in midtown and met several other film and food blog enthusiasts to see a movie that partly, takes place in New York City right after 9/11, and also 40 or 50 years earlier, in Paris, France.

I liked the movie a lot and met before and after it with a group of food enthusiasts, including some bloggers (and then there was me, a blogger, as well) at  Luce Restaurant & Wine Bar – 2014 Broadway- see the two short movies, below.

Deutsche Bank throws lifeline to New york Art

A piece of interesting news from Crain New York – Deutsche Bank throws lifeline to the arts – it’s a good thing someone is giving to the Arts, as financial cutbacks have affected almost everything.

Deutsche Bank is doling out $1.4 million worth of emergency grants to 14 arts organizations in New York City to help them continue their programming during the recession.

The funds are going to groups that have established strong roots within their communities, but lack access to deep-pocketed donors. They include the Bronx Museum of the Arts, El Museo del Barrio, the Queens Museum of Art and the Staten Island Museum.

The Future of Content and “Working the Room” – being a “Digital DJ” in New York

According to Gary Vaynerchuk, whose keynote at the MediaBistro Career Circus at Comix Comedy Club in Manhattan, yesterday – the Future of Content creation and making a living  is now requires “Working the Room” and being a “Digital DJ“; especially  in New York City, where there are so many opportunities to connect.

I was at MediaBistro Career Circus all afternoon and part of the evening – and “worked the room” which is natural for me, though, I can’t say I like hustling, which Gary Vaynerchuk maintains is neccessary to make money, blogging.      Gary feels that no one gives you anything in life, you have to go out and get it for yourself, and know how to ask for it.
