Bjarne Melgaard, Cecily Kahn, Chinese Relativity and Blab 17 book

What do Bjarne Melgaard, Cecily Kahn, Chinese Relativity and the Blab 17 book have in common?

Me.  I went to all three art openings and bought the Blab 17 book with Amy Crehore’s two page spread pf her Banana Eater near the middle of the book.

At the Stux Gallery where the Chinese Relativity show opened tonight (and where I drank dragon dark lager, it was great) the only work I liked was Yang Shaobin, Circumstance No. 4,  a large painting which had nice burshwork.

Across the street, Cicily Kahn, Wolf Kahn’s daughter, was showing her work.  I did not talk with the artist …too much going on around Cicily; liked her paintings.   I can tell my eye is good – I spotted her “painter’s touch” right away.

Then I went over to see Ryan Schneider’s show at Priska C. Juschka Fine Art, a couple of blocks away.  I liked Ryan’s paintings but there were some aspects I was not sure about (if I liked the works or not).

Finally, I went Forbidden Planet to pick up the Blab 17 book.

Did not take any pictures tonight – maybe next time (If I can make it up to the Frick Collection, to see some shows that are at the Frick right now, Wednesday afternoon – that would be great).
