Nichelle’s Newsletter gave me some details about the right wine to serve at an Art Opening.
“Rosa Regale just may be the official wine of art galleries. I have attended two events where the delicious red sparking wine was served. At the opening at Onishi Gallery in Chelsea, I had my first taste of Rosa Regale. It tastes like a red champagne.  Then I had Rosa Regale again at the closing reception for Travis Lindquist’s exhibit, “Subliminal Seduction”, at McCaig-Welles Gallery in Williamsburg. Travis is one of the founding members of the Goldmine Shithouse Art Collaborative, which is a group of artists who found a way to inspire each other artistically by collaborating yet still promoting the works of each individual artist. Plus, the guys throw cool silk screening parties! “
Darn! Wish I had gone to both exhibitions - hard to keep up with Nichelle and Matt - I wrote about them the other day at both ArtNewYorkCity, Webmetricsguru and also at Smartmobs.

Since I’m going to many openings - I always sign the guest book with Marshall Sponder - ArtNewYorkCity.com - sure some people see that and start reading this blog. Â
Now, I did find I enjoyed the photos of Gabriel Jones at Priska C. Juschka fine art. With a gallery name like the url for this site is not too pretty … www.priskajuschkafineart.com …why not just say pjfa.com or something like that - hell of a lot easier to remember. Anyway…
It was worth the visit as Jones’ work is powerful photography!

I don’t have time to write everything I saw tonight down - it was a lot, maybe 8 shows, mostly next to each other or in the same building at Chelsea.
Here’s the shows I attended tonight ( not it order of when I went)
Michael Cheval at Gallery Interart Gallery; I spoke with the artist for a couple of minutes
Jeff Perrott at Morgan Lehman Gallery 10 avenue, 317, b/w 28 & 29 street - did not relate much to the work.
BAE Bien-U at Gallerie Poller W 27 street, 547, floor 2, 6-9pm - the photography was guite good - large trees.
The Aperture Foundation - Photography of Lola Alverez Bravo with a book signing by independent curator Elizabeth Ferrer. I actually sat in for about 20 minutes and listed to the leacture.
Jade Townsend at Prisika C. Juschka gallery - installations work.
There were a couple of more shows i went to and there were plenty of people that I ran into going from gallery to gallery and building to building.
Also spoke with Bob Hogge of www.Monkdogz.com urban art; he was very nice to me and offered me some coffee or beer as I came in.
Tired, need to go to sleep.
