De Gramont’s “light show” ended up being a bunch of large glossy photos, instead of the “Light Show” I was expecting – something interactive that exists at the gallery – but there was no light show.  I’m not really into color photographs of interestingly lit landscapes and citiscapes – I don’t mean to debunk it  - yet Arnaud De Gramont is just not my kind of artist.  I can’t relate to a bunch of glossy photos.

I’ll spend the rest of this post on Kate Shaw, a Melbourne artist who has won emerging artists awards.  I wish she had a different gallery here – I don’t think Luxe is the right place for her work.   Where you show work is an important consideration for an artist; when Kate Shaw gets more shows under her belt, maybe she’ll have a chance to pick a better gallery for her work here.

Kate Shaw’s pattern recognition paintings were actually pretty good with a innovative technique that was refined but not fake.
